It’s a common misnomer that healthy foods are void of satisfying flavor and the sturdiness to tame a roaring appetite. I used to believe this was true. Unfortunately many people’s introduction to “heath foods” is something terribly bland and uninspiring. These negative experiences help support the idea that nutritious food is boring. Throughout the course of these posts on Spreadlove.org my job is to present you with foods that are fun, easy to make and satisfying.
I love to snack and one of my favorite ways to snack in between meals is by drinking shakes and smoothies. My neighbors in my apartment building can probably tell you that I’m always using my blender. I don’t even own a professional blender. In fact I’ve never owned a blender that has cost over $20.
While I do wish to eventually upgrade to a professional blender, my point is that incorporating shakes and smoothies into your diet is easy and doesn’t have to be expensive. The recipe below for the Thick Cinnamon Banana Protein Shake is one of my favorites. Children and adults alike enjoy the thick texture and sweet flavor. Depending on your appetite you can even use the Thick Cinnamon Banana Protein Shake as a meal replacer.
This shake is loaded with zinc, protein, potassium, and magnesium. Unlike shakes and smoothies found in fast food establishments, this drink only uses real ingredients. One can easily purchase a fast food shake that is loaded with artificial ingredients, preservatives and any manor of food stabilizers. People should avoid these types of drinks completely.
Please use this recipe and be inspired and creative in your kitchen. Inspire and encourage your loved ones to take another step towards health and wellness. It’s all a part of living a strong and healthy life and spreading love!
